If you’re looking for a dentist in Thorpe Bay, you may be pleased to know that Thorpe Bay Dental is in the centre of Thorpe Bay and caters for all of your dental needs, from general dentistry to cosmetic and restorative dentistry. We want all of our patients to feel relaxed and welcome at our practice. We have private, NHS and insurance patients, so we’re here to help anyone who comes through our door. When you come for an initial consultation, we will listen. Listening might sound like a minor thing, but you may be surprised by how refreshing it is to have the time to really share your thoughts about your dental journey and be able to ask any questions you want to about possible treatments. There’ll be no treatments foisted on you here; we want you to make the decisions that are right for you - we’ll just present you with the options available to you for your specific needs.

Read on to find out about some of our popular cosmetic dentistry treatments.

Teeth whitening

At Thorpe Bay Dental, we use Enlighten to give patients a brighter smile. You have the choice between a home kit, or a combination of a home kit with an in-surgery power session at the end of the treatment, when our dentist in Thorpe Bay will apply a bleaching agent to your teeth while you sit back and relax.

Enlighten consists of bespoke fitted trays, which fit snugly over your teeth. The bleaching agent can be worn in the day or through the night. Gradually, your teeth will become lighter and brighter, and we will review your progress at the end of the treatment. You will feel more confident and quite content with the improved appearance of your teeth; it’s a popular treatment for this reason.

Clear braces

If you wish to realign your teeth and you don’t want people to know that you’re wearing anything in your mouth, we can offer you Invisalign. Invisalign consists of clear plastic aligners, which are bespoke to your mouth. They are removable, so you can take them out when you are eating and drinking; you can also leave them off when you are attending a special occasion or playing sports, for example. The choice is yours and this flexibility makes it a popular treatment for many patients. The big plus point is that, thanks to the clear plastic, people won’t know that you are wearing the aligners - unless they are in the habit of staring very closely at your mouth! You should have the confidence to wear the aligners and let them work their magic.

Of course, the aligners don’t rely on magic to work; they apply gentle pressure to your teeth to gradually move them into the desired position over time. You are provided with sets of these to change between every two weeks or so, and you will just need to pop in for check-ups around every 6 weeks. The aligners are made using iTero technology, which will scan your mouth for measurements. From this scan, we can also show you an animation of how your teeth will look after treatment has been completed, even before you start wearing your aligners. We know that this is one of the most inspiring things for patients, and we like you to feel inspired by all of our treatments on offer.
