Here when you need us
Here at Thrope Bay Dental, we are committed to providing our patients with nothing but the best dental care possible. We do this by making use of innovative cutting-edge dental procedures and equipment, combined with years of first-hand dental experience.
We are a dentist in Thorpe Bay who believes that the patient’s needs should be placed before everything. Rather than simply offering patient's a standardised dental service, we believe in working everything we do around the needs of those who are undergoing treatment.
By taking a more tailored, bespoke approach to the dental service we provide, we’ve developed a reputation as a top-quality dentist in Thorpe Bay who truly listens to their patients and works for them, rather than around them.
What can a dentist in Thorpe Bay do for me?
At Thorpe Bay Dental, we recognise that many of our patients haven’t been able to gain such easy -access to dental care - due to external forces outside our control.
However, as things gradually return to some degree of normality, we advise anyone who feels they have neglected their oral health or wellbeing to contact us here at Thorpe Bay Dental.
By doing so, we can use our extensive dental skills and expertise to provide a range of both restorative, cosmetic, and preventative dentistry procedures.
Some of the main procedures we regularly provide here at Thorpe Bay Dental include:
● Cosmetic Dentistry
● Solutions for missing teeth
● Teeth straightening
● Hygienist solutions
As stated previously, at Thorpe Bay Dental we are firm believers in treating the patient, not just the problem. This is why we begin every procedure that we provide with a consultation and examination.
These let out highly-trained and efficient practitioners determine how much treatment a patient needs, and if they require and restorative measures beforehand.
Consultations are also an excellent way to let patients comfortably explain their rationale for seeking dental care, and what - if anything - they are looking to achieve.
With this information, we can then formulate a specific and tailored treatment-schedule and plan for every patient.
What is a dental hygienist?
One of the most widely sought-after varieties of treatment that we provide here at Thorpe Bay Dental is that of our dental hygienist.
Rather than address dental issues on a cosmetic or aesthetic basis, the role of a dental hygienist is to ensure that patient teeth are in a healthy and fit condition.
Given the lengthy lockdowns over the last year, many people out there are looking for a way to restore visible signs of neglect or disrepair to their teeth - such as buildups of tartar or stains.
Visiting a dental hygienist is the perfect way to do exactly that, as they specialise in performing a deep-cleaning procedure known as a ‘scale and polish’.
This aims to completely clear a patient or any tartar, plaque, and bacteria throughout their teeth, through a two-step process which generally goes as follows:
1. The hygienist begins a ‘Scale and Polish’ procedure by using an endodontic file and ultrasound scraper to ‘scrape’ all the tartar, bacteria, and plaque off the patient's teeth. This can be a great way of preventing gingivitis or gum disease.
2. Next, they use a dental polisher tool to buffer and shine all throughout the patient’s teeth - especially in the harder-to-reach areas. This clears away any visible marks and stains and leaves the patient with a fully-restored, bright, and healthy-looking smile.
If you are interested in finding out more about a scale and polish procedure, then simply arrange a consultation with one of our experts here at Thorpe Bay Dental and we’ll arrange the rest!
